Electrooptical fibers and applications

In electrooptical fibers, the refractive index, and hence the phase of light, is controlled electrically. Fibers are made electrooptical by poling.

Acreo is internationally leading on the subject, and collaborates on electrooptical fibers with groups in e.g. UK, Australia, Canada, Brazil, and France.
